Events Programming Committee
Shaping Engaging Events and Programs for Oregon’s Bioscience Community
Purpose
The Programming Committee consults with fellow Oregon Bio committees to develop and facilitate events that support the Association’s mission. These offerings include a variety of in-person networking-focused events, conferences, and online webinars.
The Events Programming Committee works with Oregon Bio to accomplish the following:
- Engaging with the bioscience community to identify relevant topics for events
- Leveraging connections to source resources, including inviting moderators or speakers, securing judges for pitch competitions, and arranging venue spaces at reduced costs
- Promoting Oregon Bio events through direct contact and social media networks
- Serving as Oregon Bio ambassadors at live events, welcoming attendees and understanding their motivations for attending
Committee members agree to attend one-hour monthly virtual meetings. Optional working groups may require additional meetings for specific events. Committee members are also expected to attend most Oregon Bio events within their region. This committee does not handle detailed event logistics but instead focuses on leveraging its members' collective connections and expertise to inform and support Oregon Bio’s programming.
