About the Speakers:
Angela Jackson, Portland Seed Fund
Angela Jackson is co-founder and managing director of the Portland Seed Fund, a top-performing private/public seed fund with 4 funds/$25 Million under management. The Fund has invested in 100+ high growth, capital-efficient companies in sectors including technology, energy, health and consumer product, primarily in the Northwest, including Bright.md and Auth0, its first unicorn (on paper!). Since 2011, the portfolio has realized numerous accretive exits such as NurseGrid and SightBox, while achieving stellar metrics for place-based investing/economic impact and backing diverse teams. Ms. Jackson has also shaped Portland State University’s innovation and entrepreneurship presence in Oregon for the past nine years, most visibly through its award-winning Business Accelerator and signature student invention competitions. She recently became business liaison to the PSU President’s Office.
Ms. Jackson is also a venture partner in Portfolia, a women-led investing model based in San Francisco, investing nationally, including in Oregon-based Madorra and IOTAS. She was named 2018 Tech Champion of the Year by Technology Association of Oregon, and a Woman of Influence in 2015 by Portland Business Journal. She was a delegate to the US State Department’s Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad, India, and is a frequent speaker/judge/mentor for entrepreneur and investor-focused audiences locally and globally. She serves on the boards of Lumen Learning, the Oregon Film Board and the Angel Capital Association, where she will chair the 2021 angel investing summit in Portland in May 2021. Ms. Jackson is grateful for her serial entrepreneur family, which gives her comfort in the trenches of early stage investment. She holds a B.A. in English and history from Boston University and a M.A. in environmental studies from University of Oregon. Inc. Magazine named Ms. Jackson one of the people to know in navigating Portland’s vibrant startup scene.
Travis Rush, Sightbox

Mr. Rush was also the founder and owner of Lucky Lab Studios, a recording studio with its own record label, Mason Records. He also founded and owned Rushweb & Eyehub, website design and app development for Optometrists and hundreds of other small to medium size businesses across the U.S.
