The Deep-Sea Fish “Omics” Science Symposium will showcase research conducted by undergraduate students from Portland State University (PSU) and Portland Community College (PCC). These students have been investigating the microbiomes and organic chemical pollutants in predators living at depths of up to one mile. This summer research experience is a collaboration between Boz Institute, PSU, PCC, and the Oregon Bioscience Association. Industry representatives are encouraged to attend the presentation and poster session to witness the potential of these emerging scientists.
Who should attend:
- Researchers and industry representatives interested in engaging with motivated STEM students and discussing their research
- Employers seeking potential future talent in the biotech industry
- Individuals curious about this unique research immersion program
- Anyone interested in deep-sea fish “omics” research and the study of microbiomes and organic pollutants in deep-sea predators.
Admission is free!
