Each year, Federal agencies with research and development (R&D) budgets that exceed $100 million are required to allocate 3.2% (FY 2017) of their R&D budget to these programs. This translates to over $3.2B each year that is distributed to grant funds to high risk technology with commercialization potential.
This LUNCH AND LEARN will cover the SBIR/STTR basics (including: eligibility requirements, size and ownership rules, SBIR vs STTR) plus recent changes in the program, agency interests, new opportunities for commercialization assistance, faster award processes and (if time) interesting technology topics in digital/IT areas .
Appropriate for:
• Those familiar with SBIR but curious about new changes
• Companies considering their first proposal
• Entrepreneur/startup supporters and service providers
• And anyone curious about how SBIR/STTR federal funding might fund their tech idea or research
