Hue Noir will host the Grand Opening Celebration of its new cosmetics manufacturing facility on October 25th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The public and press are welcome. While company headquarters and manufacturing are located in the greater Portland-Vancouver Region of the Pacific Northwest, Hue Noir serves customers all over the country via its on-line store at www.huenoir.com.
Women of color come in a wide array of skin tones and represent an underserved market in the color cosmetics industry. Whether they are of African American, Native American, Hispanic/Latina, Middle Eastern, Asian, Pacific Islander or African descent, they often can’t find makeup in hues that flatter the individual beauty of the skin tones they were born to wear. They are significantly over-looked in the upscale segment of the $56.6 billion U.S. and $426 billion global cosmetics market,1 where competitive brands appear in mass-market outlets.
Hue Noir’s goal is to help women with deeper skin tones enhance their natural beauty with products that feel as good as they look. Using leading-edge science and light technology, and working with color science experts at Konica-Minolta, the company is formulating and producing high quality, prestige fashion cosmetics at its new state-of-the-art facilities in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, far from standard industry supply chains in the Northeast and California – but in the heart of a booming health care, high tech and food processing economy. Hue Noir makes all its products according to FDA Good Manufacturing Standards, using lean manufacturing practices.
Hue Noir was founded in 2009 by biologist and product development chemist Paula Hayes. An entrepreneur with an MBA and extensive business management experience, Ms. Hayes was frustrated by her inability to find the right makeup shades for her dark-skinned complexion. Using her scientific knowledge and color formulating expertise, she has created products that are specifically designed to enhance complexions with reddish, yellow, brown and blue undertones, from fair to darkest ebony.
In addition to being available online at www.huenoir.com, Hue Noir products will soon be sold at upscale fashion boutiques and fine salons in Portland, Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago and New York City.
