BIOTRONIK, Inc. now has an exciting opportunity available for a Technical Services Associate in beautiful Portland Oregon.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Support the functions of the Technical Services Group. Ensure that quality technical assistance is provided to the end user of Biotronik products and departments within the company. Assist the Technical Services Manager in the tasks and projects supporting Biotronik goals. Secondarily, provide educational support to the Director of Education & Training in the design and implementation of education and training programs for the Biotronik Sales force, Field Clinical Engineers, Field Clinical Specialists, Physicians, and Customers when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer written and oral technical inquiries relating to implantation, programming, device compatibility or any other inquiry related to pacemaker therapy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve clinical questions through direct consultation and/or interpretation of ECG tracings and/or other data.
  • Actively participate in the technical support on-call schedule.
  • Develop competence and support the requirements of the FDA in Section 21, Parts 803 and 820 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of SOP 07, Complaint Handling, and SOP 09, Non-Returned and Returned Product Handling.
  • Implement all requirements, as outlined in Standard Operating Procedure 07, Complaint Handling, and Standard Operating Procedure 09, Non-Returned and Returned Product Handling.
  • Assist the Director of Education by providing lecture material and participate as a trainer in programs when needed.
  • May be responsible for the Case Study page of BIOTRENDS.
  • Provide education, as needed, to physicians, nurses, ancillary medical personnel, and in-house staff.
  • Acquire and maintain data pertaining to competitor products, to be used by Technical Services, Education Clinical Studies, Regulatory, and Marketing Departments.
  • Conduct Warranty testing of returned products.
  • Determine the disposition of non-returned products through phone calls and/or written correspondence.
  • Generate Technical Inquiry, Complaint Investigation, Non-Returned Product, Returned Product, and MDR reports.
  • Provide technical support to the Regulatory Department.
  • May be asked to generate Non-U.S. MDR reports to be submitted to the FDA.

TRAVEL:

  • Travel may be required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience in the implantation and/or follow-up of pacemakers and ICDs.
  • Absolutely necessary to have ICD/Tachy experience.
  • Arrhythmia recognition training or experience.
  • Experience as a technical or clinical specialist.
  • Degree in Engineering, Nursing, or equivalent experience in allied health care field.
  • Excellent presentation skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the Company.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
