Oregon has long been committed to economic development on a city, regional and state level. The cornerstones of this strategy are the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department (OECDD) and the Portland Development Commission (PDC). These organizations have partnered with the Oregon Bioscience Association to foster an environment which is highly conducive to the creation and growth of bio-related companies. Such an environment is also an attraction to such companies and organizations to move to Oregon.
The OECDD provides economic and community development and cultural enhancement throughout the state, and administers programs that assist businesses, communities and people. The organization’s mission is, simply stated, to advance Oregon's economy.
OECDD seeks to pave the way for continued sustainable economic development in Oregon, and working with the Governor, private industry and other state agency partners to ensure opportunity for Oregonians today and beyond.
