BioPro – Workforce Training and Professional Development

About the Program

OBA, in partnership with Worksystems Inc. and WorkSource Oregon, has developed BioPro, a comprehensive workforce training program. BioPro is targeted at the workforce development needs of companies and research institutions in biotechnology, medical devices, diagnostic tools and related technologies.

The goal of BioPro is to enhance the level of the Oregon bioscience workforce making the region a competitive world class bioscience center.

Both OBA member and non-member companies are eligible to participate in the training.

General curriculum includes:

  • Quality System Regulations (QSR) Management
  • QSR Inspection Techniques
  • QSR Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)
  • QSR Records, Documents, Change Control, and Standard Operating Proceduress

  • LEAN Principles, 5S and value stream mapping (VSM)
  • Statistics for the Life Sciences
  • Technical Writing
  • Communication & Negotiation Techniques for Employees
  • Communication & Negotiation Techniques for Managers
  • Planning & Time Management for Supervisors
  • Team Building

Who should attend

All levels of staff in Development Manufacturing, Quality Control Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC), Regulatory Affairs (RA), Engineers and Software Engineers, Information Technology Staff, Technicians, and Supervisors as well as midlevel Management.
